As of June 17, the Working Group of the Constitutional Commission of Uzbekistan has received more than 35,000 proposals on amendments and additions to the Constitution of Uzbekistan.
The majority of proposals have come from: The National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan, the Yuksalish National Movement, the Youth Parliament under the Oliy Majlis, the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, the Kamalak children's organization, the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan, research institutes of the Academy of Sciences, Prosecutor General's Office, Academy and School of Judges.
Most people suggest that:
- fix in the principles of foreign policy that the foreign policy of Uzbekistan is based on the principles and norms of respect for human rights and freedoms;
- no citizen can be deprived of liberty for failure to fulfil his civil obligations;
- no citizen may be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment;
- issues related to the constitutional consolidation of the right of every person to protect their rights and freedoms by all means not prohibited by law.
At the same time, final conclusions and decisions have not yet been made, and Uzbeks are encouraged to be active observers of the process and continue to make their proposals.
