The leather, footwear and fur industries in Uzbekistan have received a new momentum for development

According to the document, in 2021-2022 in commercial banks whose share of the country in licensed capital is 50 percent or more, a total of $ 50 million credit lines are opened to implement projects to produce finished leather products as well as fur and wool products with high added value.
The lines of credit are opened by the Rehabilitation and Development Fund at the expense of credit lines that have not lasted for a period of up to 7 years, including a three-year grace period with a 4 % interest per year.
Loans are allocated to business bodies to purchase new equipment and technologies for a period of up to 7 years, including a two-year grace period with a 6 % interest per year.
The document also approved a list of raw materials, materials and accessories, when imported to the Republic's territory until January 1, 2023, a zero rate of customs.
As an experiment, they create points of sale specializing in selling locally finished products on the section of the border barriers ′′ Oybek-avtoyul ′′ (Tashkent district) and ′′ Sariosiyo-avtoyul ′′ (Surkhandria district) to the border of the neighboring country. Tobin sold by businessmen at these points of sale and exported to the territory of a neighboring country are considered exporting. In the future, based on the results of the experiment, it is planned to create similar points of sale in the field from other border barriers in our country, open to international traffic, to the borders of neighboring countries.
In regions of the Republic and foreign countries, the Uzcharmsanoat Association will organize Multibrand stores that specialize in trade in leather products of local factories. Also, at the expense of the Fund for Development and Support for the Leather and Footwear Industry, its own e-commerce platform will be created. The expenses of Uzcharmsanoat association members for placing household leather products on the leading e-commerce platforms are carried out at the expense of the Fund for Development and Support of the Leather and Footwear industry.
