
Uzbekistan's GDP grew by 1.6% in 2020, the Uzbek state statistics committee said on January 27.
GDP per capita in current prices comprised of $1,685, having dipped by 0.3% y/y.
Last year, the country saw a 0.7% increase in industrial growth, while the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors registered 3% growth and the construction sector grew by 9.2%.
Additionally, the trade and services industry posted 0.1% growth, according to the committee.
Uzbekistan's economy has been hit by the coronavirus pandemic, but to a lesser extent than experienced by the economies of the country’s neighbours, due to rising gold prices—a key source for Uzbek exports.
