Representatives of the Lower House of Parliament supported the proposal to hold elections in Uzbekistan on the first Sunday of the third decade of October

According to the Journalist Service of the Legislature Bureau, the meeting focused on some aspects related to the December elections. As mentioned, in accordance with current legislation, the elections for the president, elections for the Ulei Majlis Legislature Bureau and local representatives are held, respectively, on the first Sunday of the third decade of December of the year to expire their constitutional term. This leads to a delay in the post-election political events, in particular to the adoption of the state plan and others.
In this context, according to the bill, elections are proposed on the first Sunday of the third decade of October.
At the meeting, other proposals aimed at improving national election legislation were also considered, and adapting it to commonly recognized international standards.
