Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization: Uzbekistan's experience will lead to the creation of a separate textbook for schools around the world
Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zorav Pololikashvili praised Uzbekistan's initiative to start exploring tourism since childhood, and pointed out that this initiative will contribute to entering this direction as a separate issue in schools around the world and to create textbooks.
Mr. Pololikashvili said this in a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhkimov during his visit to Spain.
Aziz Abdukhkimov informed the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization about the work done to date in building tourism culture among the population of Uzbekistan, especially among the young people. To inspire interest in this direction among the youths in Uzbekistan, a tourist map has been created to place public schools across the country. At the same time, a ′′ Young Traveler ′′ instruction book is opened to learn the culture of travel since childhood.
At the same time, the topic ′′ tourist hour ′′ is put into the school curriculum, the deputy prime minister said. Uzbekistan's experience in entering tourism since childhood, as well as simultaneous development of tourism in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization, can be a momentum to create a subject and textbook for primary schools around the world. ′′ I propose to be the first in Asia to check this direction in schools in Uzbekistan ", Mr. Pololikashvili said, according to the website of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.
