A founding agreement was signed in Tel Aviv between the Israeli company GCI Gemological Centers Ltd. and the Uzbek company Expert One LLC to establish the gemological center GCI Gemological Centers Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
GCI Gemological Centers Ltd. is an international gemological company specializing in the evaluation, certification, and education in the field of precious stones and diamonds. The company’s headquarters is located in Tel Aviv, one of the world’s leading diamond trading hubs.
According to the signed agreement, the Tashkent-based center will provide professional gemological assessments, certification of precious stones in accordance with GCI’s international standards, as well as offer educational programs in gemology. This will be GCI’s first branch in Central Asia.
According to Mr. Yehuda Yakar, General Manager of GCI, the decision to open a branch in Uzbekistan came as a result of long-term monitoring of the wide-ranging reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“Improvements in the investment climate, the fight against corruption, the growth of international trust, and the active development of human capital were key factors in favor of choosing Tashkent,” noted Mr. Yakar.
The signing of the agreement was made possible through the active efforts of Ms. Nargiza Kadirova, Head of the “Yangi O’zbekiston” Trade and Investment House. Established in August 2024 with the support of the diplomatic mission, the House has already proven to be an important tool in advancing major trade, economic, and investment initiatives.
